FAMILY CONSUMER SCIENCES

Rules and Regulations

1. Entries will be accepted on Monday from 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm and Tuesday from 1:00 pm -6 pm.

2. Exhibits will remain in place until 12:00 noon on Saturday. Removal before that time will forfeit both premium money and ribbons.

3. ALL exhibits MUST be picked up between 12:00 – 2:00 pm on Saturday.

4. All articles and products must be the work of the exhibitor and should have been made/produced since last Searcy County Fair (excluding potted plants). Whenever the superintendent receives information that the article is not the work of the exhibitor, or doubts that it is, a statement will be required to remove any doubt. If it is proven that an exhibitor has entered a false exhibit, all premiums will be forfeited.

5. Entries for Adults are limited to 2 per class and Youths are unlimited . With the exception of Collections and only 5 entries per exhibitor will be allowed.

6. Unfinished or soiled articles will not be accepted.

7. Exhibits will be judged on their merits and judges will award 1st, 2nd and 3rd  or no rating, as determined by the judges.

8. Exhibits will be judged on Wednesday. These buildings will be closed to the public during this time. The buildings will be open after Judging is Completed on Wednesday.

9. For each class in the Adult Division, there will be a corresponding one in the Youth Division. The age of the youth exhibitor must be shown on the entry tag. Premiums will NOT be paid to youth exhibits under age 5 but will receive Ribbons or Stickers

Adult: age 20 and older

1. Every precaution will be taken against loss or damage to any article or exhibit and in no case shall the management be liable for any loss or damage that may occur to any exhibitor or spectator at the show.

2. A Best of Show rosette and a Second Best of Show rosette will be awarded to 1 adult and 1 youth exhibitor in each division, at the judge’s discretion. All decisions are final.

12. All classes with an * symbol may be entered in the Arkansas State Fair.
